Mariposa, the Spanish word for butterfly, represents unfolding, transformation, and the quiet courage it takes to change. Across cultures, the butterfly has long been linked to the psyche, the soul in motion, reflecting the idea that meaningful change often begins beneath the surface before it becomes visible or known.
I am Dr. Alba Eunice Lara, a board-certified psychiatrist and psychotherapist with subspecialty fellowship training in consultation-liaison psychiatry. My work integrates years of medical expertise with in-depth psychological understanding, treating mind and body as deeply interconnected rather than separate.
At the heart of my work is helping people make sense of complex or overwhelming experiences and find a way forward when things feel stuck. Like a butterfly emerging from a cocoon, growth often begins in uncertainty.
